Billing & Subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple App Store settings. Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Storynite > Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account is deactivated and your data is kept for 6 months in case you want to come back.

You can upgrade from Spark to Family at any time in the app under Settings > Subscription. The upgrade takes effect immediately with prorated billing. To switch from Family to Spark, cancel your current plan and subscribe to Spark when it expires. Downgrades apply at the end of your billing period.

Your 7-day free trial starts when you begin an eligible Family plan subscription. You can check your trial end date in Settings > Subscription. When the trial ends, your subscription automatically converts to a paid Family plan unless you cancel before it expires. You won't be charged during the trial period.

Your billing date is set by Apple based on when you first subscribed. Your monthly story quota also resets based on this date, not the 1st of the month. If you upgraded or changed plans, your billing date may have shifted. You can check your next billing date in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

All payments are processed through Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Apple handles all refund decisions according to their refund policies.

Account & Privacy

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app. This immediately and permanently removes all your data, including stories, child profiles, and account information. This action cannot be undone. If your subscription is active, remember to cancel it through Apple as well to stop future charges.

You can change your email address in Settings > Account > Email. You'll need to verify your new email address before the change takes effect. For security, we log all email change events.

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot Password?" and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link. If you signed in with Apple or Google, your password is managed by those services instead.

You have the right to a copy of all personal data we hold about you. Send us a message with the subject "Data Request" and we'll provide your data in a machine-readable format within 30 days.

Go to Settings > Sign Out. You can sign back in at any time with your email, Apple, or Google account.

Stories & Content

Story generation can occasionally fail due to high demand or temporary service issues. Try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, make sure you have a stable internet connection. Failed stories don't count toward your monthly quota.

Spark plan subscribers can create up to 10 stories per month. Family plan subscribers have unlimited stories. Your monthly quota resets on your billing anniversary date, not the 1st of the month.

Each story is uniquely generated and cannot be re-generated or edited after creation. If you'd like a different version, create a new story with the same details. The new story will be a completely fresh adventure even with the same inputs.

Export is available on the Family plan. Open any story in the reader, tap the share icon, and choose PDF or ePub. The file will be generated and you can save or share it. Export files are cached on our servers for 24 hours, then automatically removed.

Your story quota resets on your billing anniversary date (the day you first subscribed), not the 1st of the month. You can check your reset date and remaining stories in the app. If you believe there's an error, contact us and we'll look into it.

Technical

Try these steps: (1) Force-close the app and reopen it. (2) Make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store. (3) Restart your device. If the issue continues, let us know and include your device model and iOS version so we can investigate.

Make sure you're using the same sign-in method you registered with (email, Apple, or Google). If you're using email, try resetting your password. Check that you have a stable internet connection. If you continue to have trouble, reach out to us with your account email.

Illustrations need an internet connection to load the first time. Make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data. If images still won't load, try force-closing and reopening the app. Once loaded, images are cached locally for offline reading.

Storynite works on iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later. The app is a universal build, so your stories, child profiles, and library sync automatically across all your Apple devices.
